Events are used to provide an explanation of why an account balance changed significantly on some date.   For example "Bought the cottage!".  Each Event has two components:

  • the event description (e.g. "Finally paid back my sister").
  • the date for that event.

The EVENTS screen is where you enter new events, delete existing ones or change the description or date of an existing event.

 

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GREEN AND BLUE SQUARES ON THE CALENDAR?

  • Any day with a green or blue square has an event recorded against it.
  • The blue square is your currently selected date - that is, the one whose description is displayed in the large rectangles in the middle.
  • A black square does not currently have an event recorded on that date.

 

HOW CAN I NAVIGATE BETWEEN EVENTS?

There are 2 ways to move between event dates using the calendar:

  1. Use the "< Previous Event" or "Next Event >" buttons at the top of the calendar to select the previous or next event in the account.  The calendar and blue square will change appropriately.
  2. Use the "<<" or ">>" buttons at the top of the calendar to display the next or previous month on the calendar.  Any events in that month will be shown as green squares.

 

HOW DO I ADD A NEW Event?

  1. Tap the "Add New Event" button on the left of the screen.
  2. Enter a short description for that event.  
  3. A new event is then created for you using TODAY'S DATE (or tomorrow if you already have an event entered against today).  If this event is for another date in the past, then you need to change it's date - see below.

 

HOW DO I DELETE AN EXISTING Event?

  1. Find and select an existing event entry using the calendar.  Once selected, the desired event date square should be blue.
  2. Tap the "Delete Event" button on the left and agree to the deletion.
  3. This event will be permanently deleted and your next available event will be selected.

 

HOW DO I CHANGE THE Description OF AN EXISTING Event?

  1. Find and select an existing event entry using the calendar.  Once selected, the desired event date should be blue.
  2. Tap the bottom large rectangle containing the description (surrounded by a red border) and enter a new event title.

 

HOW DO I CHANGE THE DATE OF AN EXISTING Event?

  1. Find and select an existing event entry using the calendar.  Once selected, the desired event date should be blue.
  2. Either:
    1. Navigate the calendar to show the correct new month and then tap on the desired date square, or
    2. Tap the top large rectangle containing the date (surrounded by a red border) and select the new date using the date entry control.
  3. Agree to the date change.  The new date will be displayed and selected (blue).

 

How Are Events Shown On the Account or Collection Charts?

A date with an event is shown on the main charts as a yellow diamond on the associated date.  If you slide your finger across the chart to that date, the event description will be shown below the chart in white.  The following example shows an extract of a chart with an event selected using a finger press at that date.
